Ardnamurchan AD/07.21:05 is the fifth version of 2021 from the Adelphi distillery, whose composition remains the same as the previous ones: 65% ex-Bourbon and 35% ex-Sherry (Oloroso and PX), from peated and unpeated malt in equal proportions.
A light, mineral smoke envelope other interesting sensations, associated to a fresh, zesty citrus component and a more animal one. The spices are a mix of salt and pepper, with fresh ginger addition. Stimulating.
The entrance is spicy and sapid, while still keeping a creamy texture. A good alcohol intensity pushes the intensity, though keeping balance in the right order. Clean and mineral, remembering clear cold water on stones in a river. Smoke is just a distant hint. Cereals are much more evident.
More waxy than nose and palate, creamy and with a fresh lemon note coming back on the surface. Mineral to the end, yet balanced.
Ardnamurchan AD/07.21:05 is definitely an interesting experience, with a creamy texture enveloping a light smoke, mineral character and some tasty spices on a citrus profile. Clean and neat, intense and well-integrated, a sharp and rich experience, not suited for cigar pairing due to the intense minerality.
