Tomatin 12yo is the entry level product with aging statement in the core range of the Highland distillery.
A yellow nose, rich in Navel orange, apricots, dusty vanilla and a buttery structure. Fiery balsamic herbs with a citric background are then given off, providing an extra very nice layer.
Nice, with a balanced intensity and a truly silent alcohol. Again on oranges and peaches, yellow, with a touch of sweet spices.
Not very long, sweet and still on orange, probably the simplest of the phases, not a truly unique profile, yet pleasant without being surprising.
Tomatin 12yo is a nice, classic malt, with a sweet profile dominated by suadent notes of yellow fruit (oranges, apricots, peaches). The nose is more layered, with a nice balsamic herbs touch, while sweet spices are helping the mouthfeel. The finale is probably the less attractive of the three. A pleasant, maybe not truly original or outstanding product.
