Westland Colere – Edition 2

The Westland Colere – Edition 2 is all about the barley used: Colere is Latin for “to cultivate.” The distillery stated “With Colere, we set out to chart the direct impact of barley on flavor. Leaving behind the well-trod territory of ubiquitous grains, it begins to explore the thousands of new and forgotten varieties of barley whose flavor has yet to be considered, striving to capture the vibrancy and diversity of Pacific Northwest terroir through single malt whiskey.”

The second edition of Colere continues the exploration of new varieties of barley, bred outside the commodity system with flavor first in mind. Colere Edition 2 is a limited annual bottling made with Talisman, a 2-row winter variety descended from the irrepressible Maris Otter and matured in only used casks to relegate the oak influence to a supporting role and focus the attention on the grain itself.

Starting from May 2022, a total of 3.000 bottles will be available worldwide.It is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
